Ahead of their forthcoming new album Mausoleum, Provoker have dropped the chilling double feature, ‘Germaphobe / Tears In The Club’. The project began as a solo vehicle for Christian Crow Petty to make film scores, and this track highlights this influence, with the pulpy horror of ‘Germaphobe’ leading directly into the danse macabre of ‘Tears In The Club’. There is certainly something cinematic about the band’s compositional style, but it is blended with rigid post-punk rhythms and a new-wave melodic sensibility.
